My Gem Pieces are, in fact, oil paintings that I create using just a pencil, paper, and oil paints (there are no real gems in any of the paintings). I’m able to achieve the effect of real gems really just by knowing how to use the colors to create shadowing, depth and a sheen. And then how I frame them is a big part of the end result that showcases each individual birthstone.
I think this makes an ideal gift particularly for women who enjoy jewelry and their birthstone—especially for the woman who has it all, this will make a unique, thoughtful gift. And each Gem Piece comes with a certificate of authentication including a number that indicates where it was created in the series.
